Motorboat

This photograph shows the launch that was used to sail passengers, usually hotel guests, around the penisula of Shetland. It was captained by Sonny Johnson (Sonny o'Catwall), he's seated in punt wearing Fair Isle. This service was stopped in the mid 60's when the captain had a long illness. The North of Scotland Shipping company could not find another sailor who knew all the dangerous reefs around Hillswick. The pier at Hillswick was also demolished shortly afterwards.
