Shop is typical of many "ben-end" shops which flourished throughout Shetland a century ago, from which you could buy goods as diverse as tar, bain, "steeples", sweeties, "coo's trekkle", distemper, "black twist", lamp wicks, tea, bakers' biscuits and "bathchap".
