Garth, Dunrossness

Garth, a township of six houses and showing tekkit roofs, outbuildings, stooks, cultivated ground. The tenants of Garth were cleared in 1874 to make way for sheep. The families of the six houses were Anderson, Henderson, Bairnson, Garriock, Johnson, Flaws. Twenty one other households, in the neighbouring townships, were cleared at the same time.
