USTETIND
Image Item Details
The wreck of the Norwegian cargo ship USTETIND at Silwick, Sandsting, wrecked Christmas Day 1929; broken in half. She was carrying a load of timber for hydro-poles; in a severe south-easterly gale (during which a lot of ships were lost around Britain) the cargo shifted, fouling up the propellor. She drifted onto the beach at Silwick, having somehow avoided the rocks and stacks around.
