Goodlad family of Albany Street. Standing: Joey Goodlad, Jack Goodlad, Peter Goodlad, Sonny Goodlad, Bob Goodlad. Sitting: James Goodlad, Norman Goodlad, Martha Goodlad, Barbara Goodlad, Joan Goodlad (nee Williamson). James Goodlad was born 1st March 1864 at Zoar, Wadbister, Tingwall. Joan Williamson was born 28th December 1866 at Lerwick, they married on 10th July
1888, James died on 9th November 1953, Joan died 8th March 1947,
both at Lerwick. James was a partner in the shoe business Goodlad & Coutts, later Goodlad & Goodlad. Childrens births: Martha 28th July 1891, Barbara 15th May 1893, Joey 13th December 1895, Sonny 18th June 1899, Jack 5th May 1902, Bob 3rd March 1905, Peter 28th June 1907, Norman 22nd November 1909. Sonny was killed in the First World War; died at Boulogne Gen. Hospital of gunshot wounds 26 Jun. 1918.
