Shetland Section, Royal Naval Reserve band, Fort Charlotte. Standing; Geordie Hay, Davie Robertson, Sam Blake, Adam Ross (Scalloway), Lowrie MacPherson, A. Manson (Law Lane), Jeemie Sinclair (Sullom), Robert Scott, "Lofty" (from England, real name unknown). Sitting; John Irvine, Geordie Manson (Lerwick), Charles Hughson, D. Leask, Magnus Leask, Tammie Peterson, Lt. Col. H. Evans, Adam Halcrow, Sgt. Carter, Tammie Sinclair (North Road), Bertie Manson (North Road), John Laurenson (Gunnister), Andrew Nicolson, Andrew Paton, Magnus Bonar. Bass drum has Royal Arms and ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE / SHETLAND SECTION. Note gun harpoon. Adam Ross was lost with mining of his ship, 27 Oct. 1917. McPherson was a shoemaker who stayed at Lerwick. Carter was bandmaster.
