Description
Muness castle on South East of Unst in a derelict state. Built in 1598 for Laurence Bruce. The castle was sold by the Bruce family in 1718 and abandoned by 1750. View showing collapsed turrets. Gunholes are visable which allowed gunners to cover every part of the castle walls. The casle would have been surrounded by other buildings. Traces of these can be seen in the field to the south. A bicycle in leaned against a fence outside.
