George Cooper's station, looking towards Hamnavoe. Three drifters at jetty, "Cooper's Pier"; nearest is LK 161 GEM. Gutting at head of jetty and barrels stacked; girls standing on jetty. Fishermen's houses are; Highmount, Glen, Roadside, all on skyline, and below is Dukestreet. Hamnavoe grew very rapidly from a couple of buildings Note that Fraser & Co.'s shop is under construction (opened late
1897 / early 1898). Building next to the shop is the bød.
