Sinclair family of Boat's House, Symbister, take a break during hirdin. Standing at back; Sandy Jardine (holding dog Spark), Kirsie Sinclair snr., Robbie Sinclair, Davie Sinclair. In front of them, wearing cap, is Lowra Sinclair. Front row are Eenie Sinclair, Jessie Rattar, Kirsie Sinclair jnr., Sandy Sinclair, Ellie Sinclair, Willie Sinclair. Sheaves of oats can be seen. Sandy Sinclair grips a fettel for carrying sheaves. Sandy Jardine is from the Old Barn, Symbister. Jessie Rattar is wife of the photographer. Kirsie (nee Anderson) married to Robbie. The other seven Sinclairs are their children.(Note: the photographer's mother Kirsie Ratter was a sister to Robbie. He stayed with his uncle, aunt and cousins at the Boat's House frequently.) 2nd from right back row is fisherman's gansey or froke. On right, back row a gansey or froke in yarn of a Shetland appearance.
