beside him is an Associated Herring Merchants herring inspector from Aberdeen. Bending down in front of them is Willie Couper (foreman cooper on the yard). The man in dungaree jacket just in front of the main farlin, is 'Peerie Gibbie', or Gilbert Jamieson. He stayed in the top flat of an old house behind what was Tammie Laurenson's workshop at Garthspool.
