James A.Jamieson's premises at Ervhouse, Huxter, Weisdale in the late 1890's. Besides having a farm here, Jamieson had a busines capitalising on people travelling to and from Lerwick; gigs were for hire.


hired out (note gig shed at left with dovecoat above), thirsty
foot-travellers could drink at the pub, and tourists could lodge at the
inn above the shop.
