Scalloway Hotel with staff outside, three gigs; sign reads CHARLES LENNIE./SCALLOWAY HOTEL. The building of the Hotel commenced in 1885. The builder was JM Aitken. The hotel was ready for occupation by the McInnes family on 12th May 1886. Donald McInnes died suddenly in the hotel on 11th December 1888. His wife Euphemia, carried on running the hotel for a further 3 years,.
