Fethaland (Fedaland) haaf station, Northmavine. Boats set out for the fishing at the start of the week. Crew are getting on board sixareen at far left, whilst another sixareen rows out. The other four boats lie at their moorings; a rope can be discerned at lower left coming ashore - by this cable, a boat could be hauled in to shore. The sixareen stern on clearly shows the correct method of stowing the oars, and in the other two nearby the sail can be seen. At the head of the beach are the salting vats and other sixareens in their noosts. The bøds have a variety of poan, tekk or tarry roofs, and smoke rises from the chimney of one in the centre.
