Description
St. Magnus Bay Hotel, Hillswick, Northmavine. Built by the 'North of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland Steam Navigation Company' opening in July 1900. The Shetland Times reports that "the hotel is commodious throughout - in fact the internal arrangements are such that it stands second to none in the islands - even including the town of Lerwick". It was possible to travel to Hillswick by taking the steamer up the West side from Scalloway.
