Navel shipping in the harbour including a frigate, Dutch busses and other sailing craft. Ship's boat being rowed in foreground.

Shetland was an obvious target for the Royal Navy Impress or Press Gangs for many years in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth Century as Shetland men were skilled in handling and sailing boats.
