Description
Dunrossness packet boat COLUMBINE, skipper James Jamieson. This was vessel which, whilst on a routine trip from the 'Ness to Lerwick, had an accident resulting in her crew all being over the side, and her sole passenger still on board. That passenger, Betty Mouat, Scatness, became a local legend after the boat drifted to Leps/oy in Norway with Betty safe and well, January 1886.
