Description
Robbie Anderson ("Whisky Robbie") was born 15/12/1897 and died 5/8/1983. He is seen here with a 1930 Austin 16 taxi registration AV 1899 at the Market Cross. By 1960 it had covered 720,000 miles and still had it's original engine, although twice resleeved. It gave 20 miles to the gallon and Robbie claimed a top speed of 60 m.p.h.
