Racing boat WHITE WINGS passing a sail drifter. Built in Southampton in 1894 by Summers & Payne, a leading firm of boat builders, being designed by A. Payne. She sailed in the Clyde in the 1894 season; in 1895 she was towed through the Forth & Clyde Canal and sailed from Grangemouth to Leith; there she was loaded onto the ST. NICHOLAS and thence to Walls. She was built for J. H.
Allan, (resident in summer at Burrastow). She sailed in the first
Vaila Sound Regatta in 1895; she sailed at all these regattas up to
1906. She also sailed as late as 1935. She was broken up about
1950 at Walls.
