White family, studio portrait. Back - Bab (Barbara, later Mrs. Martin) , Jim White, Maggie (later Mrs. Wells), Peter, Johan White (later Mrs. Ollason); front - Thomas White, John White, Liza White (later Mrs. Blance), Mrs. Margaret White (nee Goodlad), Donnie White. John White was a bootmaker. Peter died after saving a woman who had fallen over the pier while waving to the departing steamer on a winter's night; he developed pneumonia. This photograph was probably taken on the event of their parents' Silver Wedding anniversary.
