Whale caa at Sand in July 1899. The grind itself took place on 15 July, the catch being 71 pilot whales. They had been seen at Selivoe first. There had been no grind here since 1855. In the foreground is the Lower Gerdins pier. Looking across to Sandsound, with the distant houses of the Baak, Berfield, and the Corner.
