Grutness from beach. Part of Grutness house, centre right, was requisitioned early in WW2 and occuppied by the navy and then the RAF. White structure behind Grutness house is water tower for the navy camp. The house on the left was occupied by Davie Gatt, originally from pennan who was a cooper at the Grutness herrring station. White boat in voe is former ships lifeboat DUNCAN owned by Jim Black. Large boat at top of pier is probably the EVA which came from Norway to Noss and then was bought by G. W. Leslie.
