The Swiftwing II was the first post-war addition to the Shetland fleet. She was bought in January 1946 from Fraserburgh by Alex Watt of Lerwick and his sons James and William. A sturdy 52 foot long vessel, she was equiped for both seine and drift netting. She also sported the first Marconi Sea Graph echometer to be used in Shetland.
