Labour Party electioneering van and people at 1939 Election; Arthur Woodburn, John Robertson, "Floorie Willie" Sinclair. Woodburn was General Secretary of Scottish Labour Party. Robertson, the Labour candidate, was from the Biggin, Aith, Shetland, and was a Seaman's Union man. (He was finally elected in 1945 and was a junior cabinet minister from 1947) The 1939 election was cancelled due to the onset of World War 2.
