Description
Royal Air Force officer, Lieutenant Arnold B. Massey; based at Catfirth, flying boats patrolled the minefields off Shetland which were designed to prevent German submarines breaking through to the Atlantic from the North Sea. Lt. Massey was Canadian (he latterly lived in Toronto), and was awarded the Air Force Cross after the war.
