Description
Lace stole on a stretcher, dated 1899. Knit to commemorate the 80th birthday of Queen Victoria in 1899, in the 62nd year of her reign. The stole is decorated with crowns, crosses pattee, and what may represent the saltire. Same stole is in 03369. See also 03370 and 03371 for similar stoles for royalty. All three stoles were probably spun, designed and knit by members of the Sutherland family.
